Free Time? Yeah right!

Holey moly cow - has it been a week already!?! Jeezum crow - I haven't stopped since last Saturday afternoon. I wrapped up some emergency response training on Saturday morning and headed home to K-Man. He's still being called "Limpy MacWhiny" but he's less high. Not so much (ok, a lot of) codeine and lots of sleep have taken a lot of the edge away and he's almost back to his own unique form of normal. Pat & Val came home for a quick visit and some loving - Pat's tat was glowing under his sleeve so I decided to snap a shot - Yes, you are reading correctly... why, you ask? So that he 'remembers to brush his teeth'. Yup, that's my kid. A friend of mine told me that she suspects that he's a lot like me. What should I make of that???

I have been doing a lot of this thing called "working for a living" and secured a nice little contract this week - good stuff to keep me working for the next month or so. It's small potatoes for a lot of people in my field but it's just the right size to keep me busy (and in the black). I love being productive. I even managed to complete a pair of Hedera socks in a soft blue baby yarn. Shhh can you hear that? It's my lovely socks blocking in the other room.
Hmm...what else??? Someone I care about but haven't spoken to in a while called up to ask me to help coordinate another project. Turns out that they were just diagnosed with MS. I didn't know how to express my regrets about this. This is very vibrant person who exudes energy and life force. Not someone to be slowed down by an uncooperative body, that's for certain. Another friend went AWOL and turned up last night in Edmonton - huh? But she called so all is good (All I do is nag you, kiddo). And - BIG *AND* I made my first Etsy sale (Thanks, R!!!! Did I say 'ty' yet - just one million times, eh? Okay, I'll quit now).
I keep meaning to post pictures of my loot from Angelique so here ya go

Isn't the coolest thing EVER!?! I use the coasters every day in my office and they always make me so happy - thanks, Girl!
Taz is next in line for this wonderful experience. I just hope that I can live up to the great things that have gone before. I'll work on it ;)

(OK I had to edit this post - I mean "they was.."???? Now do you believe that English is not my native language???? Jeeeeez!)

You are certainly welcome...Waiting for my mail, waiting for my mail....I love packages in the mail...

On a more serious note, I just found out yesterday that a dear friend of mine has ALSO just been diagnosed with MS. It's quite a shock. I haven't been in touch with her for a while since she retired, and it was a mutual acquaintance who told me. I understand she is taking it hard. I need to get in touch with her and I am debating how to do it... should I leave it to her to tell me or tell her that I know and I want to be there for her? This is just so WRONG for our friends on so many levels.....

And as for THAT GIRL who went AWOL... She's in Edmonton on business. She went AWOL on the weekend for us too- we invited them to Art in the Park and didn't hear from her...I expect that we will hear this weekend (or ELSE...) And I guess comforting Kent is in order after last night's game....

oh no!?! It's a sneaky, sneaky disease (grrrrrrrrr)
Call her right away, let her tell you and if hse guesses that you already know, just be honest about it. That way she won't feel uncomfortable. Friends are precious :)

Yeah, she'd better get that butt back home soon ;) we need some "serious drinking done"

Congratulations on your first Etsy sale and the contract - I grew up with a consultant so I know how important those moments are!

Those coasters are great and so are the socks!

I've been a bit remiss in the blogging department too...so no criticims from here that's for sure. We're just happy to have you back online.

I think my banker will be soooooo pleased too - as much as we pretend it doesn't, money does help (you can pay bills, buy groceries - you know - the luxuries LOL)
Thanks for the nice words - blogging is the best hobby ever (cuz I don't need no freakin' free time hee hee hee)

Congrats on your Etsy sales! Interesting tattoo. I'll never be brave enough to get a tattoo (such a wimp) but I must confess that I probably wouldn't choose that one! Very original.
Angelique's coasters are awesome.
MS is a scary thought. When we face huge challenges like that, friends are so important.

Thanks:) It made my weekend!
Pat was probably inebriated when he got his friend to do that (boy, am I proud LOL)I first read "denial hygiene" - he's having a tooth added later (whatta Freak)
isn't her stuff great!?! I love them
MS is so bad - this person looks so good on the outside but they can't feel their toe anymore...and they're scared. I am trying to be supportive without being intrusive but all I want to do is hug them...

His father just shook his head and asked when it would wash off ('what do you mean 'never'?????)
I, on the other hand, fell off of the couch because I was laughing so hard. His poor girlfriend was just watching us wondering what she has gotten herself into by joining our family
Circus Freaks have nothing on us - we can outfreak them anyday

I think you all sound like a very well adjusted normal family but then my mother thinks I only get tattoos to annoy my grandmother who's been dead for 7 years! Yeah go figure that one out :/
Those are some gorgeous coasters and I am very very excited to be part of the whole PIF process...did I mention I was excited?

I'll bet your Grandmother's 'up there' cheering you on - "get more ink, dearie, get more ink!"
I'm going to get some more (when I can find a new artist who I can trust- my last guy took off to Nova Scotia)

I'm pretty excited to send this off to you, too :)
